The history of A/S Wodschow & Co |
|
|
|
Back in 1915 the dynamic mechanic, Palle Wodschow founded what later became one of the world's leading mixer plants. From the very beginning focus has been on strength, versatility and up-to-date design. Thorough research through many years has lead to the development of ultra-modern machines that today are found in the catering industry and in innumerable bakeries all over the world. In our factory and office approx. 65 people are employed.

After 5 years as mechanical workshop, the company started production of mixers in 1920 with 3 and 4 gear models. Already at that time the unique planetary movement of the tools was introduced. In 1925 the company was honoured with two gold medals at a bakery exhibition in Copenhagen.
In 1953/54 Wodschow launched an entirely new feature, viz. the infinitely variable speed regulation. The 15 L model R15 was manufactured in moulded cast iron, and a new way of clamping and lifting the bowl in one movement was introduced. This model was produced up to 1969 in a number of 2,000 pcs. and was then replaced by a 20 L mixer in plate steel.
Bigger mixers were incorporated in the program during the next years.

Demands and needs grew, and in 1960 the large 150 L mixer was introduced. However, this was later replaced by a 140 L mixer and a 200 L mixer, and the 10 L mixer was added to the mixer program.
In December 1993 A/S Wodschow & Co. received the Export Prize of the year, founded by The Danish School for International Marketing & Export.
Through the nineties a lot of improvements and new development were made, among other things the MK-III programmable model, opening up the possibility to key in up to 25 programs each containing up to 9 steps of speed and time. This model is still a great success, and the development of computerized systems lead to the introduction of the new Vari-Logic panel - a finger touch glass panel, easy to use and easy to clean.
Ergonomics and hygiene being given the pride of place lead to development of the ERGO concept, which now goes from strength to strength all over the world.
New technology has resulted in development of the special ERGO BEAR™ - mixers where the mixing tools can be mounted at a comfortable and ergonomically correct working height making work with the large mixers much easier. The ERGO BEAR concept is available for the sizes 60 L, 100 L and 140 L.

In 2003 the 5 L mixer TEDDY™ was launched - a very applicable and versatile small table mixer in an elegant design. TEDDY is a good choice for smaller tasks in any professional kitchen, bakery or laboratory.
During 2005/06 we proudly presented the totally new BEAR Varimixer RN20 VL-2 and RN10 VL-2. Attractively designed, the improvements are not just skin deep. The RN20 and RN10 are fitted with the new electronic Vari-Logic control panel, VL-2, giving a more adaptable speed variation for the selected task. There are now 4 fixed speed programs that can be individually fine-tuned together with a 60 minute timer. Another new addition to the RN20 and RN10 is a REMIX™ function capable of storing up to 4 different programs. Finally there is an emergency stop and single button start/stop operation, as well as a pause function for inspection of contents during operation.
With a completely new motor and advanced control function the mixer is stronger than ever. The top speed has also been increased. The new RN20 and RN10 has strength to knead dough, speed for egg whites and cream as well as good looks. The RN20 and RN10 are available as floor-standing model and as a table-top model.
Both the RN20 and RN10 are produced in stainless steel as well as the mixing tools consisting of a hand finished dough hook, an easy clean whip and a beater that reaches to the bottom of the bowl.
High level production technology - top modern production facilities.
